The Odd Life of Timothy Green, released on Aug. 15, was an endearing film that will make you laugh and cry. This movie stars Jennifer Garner, Joel Edgerton, and CJ Adams.

Filmed in Canton and Albany, Georgia, The Odd Life of Timothy Green was centered on a childless couple that wants a child of their own.

One night, Cindy and Jim Green write down wishes for their dream child and bury the wishes in a box in their backyard.

The Greens dream of starting family of their own, but they didn’t expect for their child to show up in the form of Timothy Green.

Explaining that he “came from the garden,” the couple realizes that their ideal child has “grown” to life. They not only get a 10-year-old boy, but also a child that brings with him unexpected and enchanting gifts.

The leaves on his legs aren’t the only things that make him different. Timothy has a sparkling personality, and his cheerful attitude encourages everyone he meets.

The film portrayed the delightful truth that a person’s unique attributes should be accepted by all.

Hannah Hughes, junior early childhood education major, explained that this feel-good movie left her feeling happy and satisfied.

“Even though the ending wasn’t what I expected, I still really enjoyed it!” stated Hughes.

The Odd Life of Timothy Green went farther than just the screens. In the movie, Timothy wore socks to cover up the leaves on his legs. In honor of this, Walt Disney Studios recently launched The Odd Life of Timothy Green Sock Drive, aimed at providing new socks for families in need across the U.S.

People are encouraged to take new pairs of socks to any of the community drop-off locations nationwide listed on Facebook.com/OddLifeMovie.

The delightful essence of this film wasn’t just contained in the theaters— it was also brought to reality in a service-based project. The Odd Life of Timothy Green has been an inspiration for many and will continue to stir audiences everywhere.
