A journey to Arlington

The bus to AT&T Stadium loaded up at 9 p.m. Friday September 19. The cheerleaders, families and my friends and I all scrambled to get the best seats we could find. I was the first person to get on the buss and claim my piece of reality for the weekend. 16 hours to Arlington with stops every three  hours the bus driver told us. I started my journy with a short video of the packed bus as we pulled off campus, and soon the packed bus was full of sleeping strangers. Sleep then wake up to get off at a rest stop. That was the excitement for the trip. Every stop gave my group of friends a shot of energy and we stayed up a little longer to clown around before crashing back out on our long bus ride.

State to state we came and left, pictures taken at each one to remember the moment forever. It honestly seemed like Texas would never come at times. I couldnt even tell what day it was at one point. We were on the bus for so long the days just seemed to melt together. Then the skyline appeared around 11 a.m on September 20. We could see the big city that had long awaited us. Arlington shot towards the sky and the bus erupted into cheers and whistles.

I took pictures and videos as we high-fived each other on the bus, we had finally made it. We got to AT&T Stadium and I was blown away by the massive structure that stood before me. 30 more minutes passed as we took pictures, got tickets and started to head inside. I recorded every second of my entrance to the stadium. It was a moment I never wanted to forget. I walked into the stadium and was instantly knocked off my feet. I have been in many football stadiums, but this was nothing like those. This was a football palace that Jerry Jones built himself. We took our time in exploring every open door and shop that this four story, at least the four that were open to the public, and basked in the glory of the Dallas Cowboys. The Hawks took the field at 1 p.m. central time and played a hard fought game. Though they came up short, the Hawks played strong. The game came to an end around 5 p.m. central time and we took a walk around Arlington as a group of friends snapping memories on our phones with every turn. The bus was not scheduled to pick us up until 9 p.m. We further explored Arlington and made a quick Walmart run for supplies to last us the rest of the evening on our long trip back home. We returned to the stadium parking lot where we watched a large group of Midwestern State University students tailgate and party before their team took the field inside. We waited outside until the bus came to pick us up. Exhausted from the long day and ride early this morning, we climbed into our seats and fell asleep instantly. We woke up a few times along the way to relive the memories we had just made, but slept most of the way home. We didnt even get off the bus for the Cracker Barrell breakfast. We just wanted to get back to the Hill after the long trip. The trip is one I will never forget and I have made lasting memories with my bestfriends in Texas. I would do it again if the opportunity ever arises.
