Senior, Kyle Morris, is a senior art major from Apopka, Florida. Morris says he wanted to choose something that gave him freedom and that did not keep him locked in an office all day. He needed something that would let him move. His passion was to be outside and experiencing life all while helping others to do the same.
Morris said he chose to go into photography because there are so many possibilities, but he also says photography is in his blood. Morris comes from a family where photography was encouraged. He mentions his dad being a professional photographer before Morris was born, and as he grew up his house was full of negatives and developing equiptment.
The developing process must continue to amaze Morris. As he is preparing for his senior show, he decided to focus on the actual process of film making.
“My show focused on processes, what happens as soon as the shutter closes after I expose a piece of film, and how it’s that process that determines the final product and how the content of every image is dependent on things that happen after the shutter closes”
His senior show will be in the art gallery located on campus the first week of November with his art talk on November 7th where he will explain his motivation behind his collection.
