Shorter’s wrestling team recently won first place for the Georgia Intercollegiate
Championships against Life University, Brewton-Parker College, Darton College and
Truett-McConnell College, but the true question is what does it take for this kind of
success in wrestling?
Many students have watched in confusion as members of the wrestling squad have
run miles in multiple layers of sweats in the middle of summer, or seen them having to
cut weight and give up food days before competition. People often wonder, is all of that
really worth it for a collegiate sport? For members of the Shorter wrestling team, this is
simply their way of life.
