BEST DESIGN-

The Periscope won a first-place award from the Georgia College Press Association for outstanding achievement in layout and design recently. The campus newspaper competed in Division B against seven other collegiate newspapers. The award was presented at the annual GCPA Institute in Athens.

On Jan. 12, junior nursing major JoAnna Davis was crowned Miss Shorter 2012.  She competed against six other students and prevailed, receiving a $2,000 scholarship.  Winning has earned her a spot in the Miss Georgia scholarship competition later in the year.
